At this time, our Housing Choice Voucher wait list is CLOSED.
If you are an active applicant on our wait list , you will be notified by mail at the time a Section 8 voucher becomes available. For this reason, be sure to keep your mailing address up to date with our office. Updating changes to your mailing address MUST be done in writing.
If you are an active applicant on our list, we are UNABLE to give you any information as to your estimated wait time on the list. The only information we are able to give is to confirm your name is on the HCV wait list.
We strongly encourage all active applicants who are currently on our waiting list to begin saving for a security deposit payment since the housing commission DOES NOT assist with security deposits.
We recommend trying to save approximately $1,500.00 for this expense. ( MI. law allows up to 1 1/2 month contract rent for a security deposit).
